I currently slave away long thankless hours as an Entertainment Packaging and Key Art Graphic Designer/Art Director living in Hollywood, CA. I hate staring at a screen 9+ hours a day almost as much as I hate being forced to kill every good idea I come up with for brainless corporate marketing drones. Only to see the same “passed” ideas in-production weeks later being called “brilliant”. I seek a lifestyle change.

I do Music.
I was raised by touring musicians. I’d been in hundreds of bars, lounges and “supper clubs” all over the midwest before I was 4 years old. I play Guitar, Bass and Drums. I play a Roland G-707/GR-700 Guitar/Synthesizer from 1984. It’s not a Keytar. I want to learn to play Piano. I’ve worked in every possible aspect of live music. I’ve played in bands since 15. I ran a punk venue/skate ramp at 19 where I designed and distributed flyers, learned to build websites and acted as talent buyer; Booking bands for 3-6 months in advance and networking with booking agents/promoters/bands all across the country (some are now national names). I ran live sound at a bar/venue for 6 months at the end of college. I was invited out to L.A. at Sundance 2007 by a band on a Major Label to be their All-Purpose Tour Assistant. (Driver, Roadie, Stage Manager, Instrument Tech).

I do Art.
I design dvd packaging for the biggest studios in entertaiment. I can go into any Best Buy and see dozens of projects I had a hand in designing. I have a 4 year University studio art degree that I spent 5 ½ years getting. I’ve studied Painting (I prefer Oil); Printmaking (Screenprinting, Intaglio, Woodcut); Sculpting (oxy weld, carve wood, cast), Ceramics, Papermaking and Art History. I need to go to Europe.

I do Movies/Drama.
My first job was at 14 working in a dinner theatre that my mom helped run. I starred in a horror movie and worked as an extra in some comedy shorts. I have co-written scripts. In high school I painted/built sets, commanded lower stagecraft classes with an iron fist, performed every “character” part that required an accent and ran stage sound.

I write.
I took enough English in college to have Minored in it. I am co-author/editor of this blog you are reading. I can handcode HTML/CSS and am figuring out this bewitching mistress PHP.

I learn.
I have a bottomless thirst for knowledge and an encyclopedic retention for useless information of ALL TYPES but mostly entertainment. I got to the million dollar song in auditions for a national TV show involving “music lyrics” without using all of my lifelines. I made it to the 4th callback.

I can.
I can build computers from the ground up. I can fix almost anything or tear it apart trying. I can solder electronics. I can build anything, paint, weld and lift 50+ lbs. I own my own car and love being on the road.

And I can keep a secret.
